#SamuelJohnson #DoctorJohnson Samuel Johnson / el Doctor Johnson / (Lichfield, Staffordshire, 1709 - Londres, 1784) es uno de los ingleses que más ha aportado a la literatura de su país. No por escribir muchas novelas o una gran novela que todo el planeta conoce, sino por sus ensayos, por su diccionario, por su ingenio... No veía muy bien, de ahí que se acercara tanto el papel para leer... Su prestigio también se debe, en parte, a la biografía que escribió su amigo James Boswell. Es autor de ensayos, poesía, crítica literaria, biografías, el libro de viajes «Un viaje a las tierras altas de Escocia» (viaje que hizo con su biógrafo, que también escribió su propio cuaderno de viaje)... y la novela corta filosófica «La historia de Rasselas, príncipe de Abisinia». Se casó a los 25 años con Elizabeth Porter, que era viuda y le llevaba más de 20 años. Tras la muerte de ella, nuestro protagonista se hundió anímicamente. Sí, puede parecer sexista que comente la diferencia de edad en este casp...
