George S. Kaufman fue coautor de la obra teatral Stage Door (Damas del teatro), que dio lugar a la famosa película. Edna Ferber fue la otra autora. Edna también escribió novelas y relatos cortos. Ganó el Pulitzer con So Big (Así de grande).

 
Otras de sus obras son Show Boat (que se convirtió en musical), Cimarrón (también llevada al cine), Gigante (sí, inspiró la famosa película), Ice Palace, Old Man Minick (dio lugar a tres películas)...

Ya sabéis que esta magnífica y entrañable película de Frank Capra, «Qué bello es vivir», está basada en el cuento «El mayor regalo» («The Greatest Gift») de Philip Van Doren Stern.

A mí, la primera que se me viene a la cabeza es «¡Qué bello es vivir!». ¿Recuerdas al vecino que grita desde su porche «¿Por qué no la besas en vez de aburrirla con tus charlas?». 🙂
