Ina Coolbrith / Josephina Coolbrith (Nauvoo, Illinois, Estados Unidos, 1841 - 1928), que integraba la Golden Gate Trinity junto con Bret Harte y Charles Warren Stoddard. Y Jack London la consideró su madre literaria.
Entre sus libros de poemas se encuentran «Un día perfecto y otros poemas» y «Canciones desde el Golden Gate». Su casa se incendió a consecuencia del gran terremoto de San Francisco y perdió más de 3000 libros (algunos de gran valor), aparte de su casa y sus enseres. Afortunadamente se llevó a su gato.

Debido a la dedicación a la obra de Noguchi, ella no cuenta con una extensa obra. La periodista, historiadora y escritora Ethel Marie Armes (Washington, Estados Unidos, 1876 - Peterborough, New Hampshire, 1945). Un día se enteró de que el escritor Yone Noguchi, con quien estaba comprometida, le había sido infiel con Léonie Gilmour. Y rompió su compromiso con él.
Fue reportera de los periódicos Chicago Chronicle, The Washington Post o Birmingham Age-Herald. 
Algunas de sus obras son «Midsummer in Whittier's country», «Studies of Red Mountain from my balcony: a fugitive essay», «The Washington manor house: England's gift to the world», «Stratford on the Potomac» (junto con Sidney Lanier y otros autores), «Stratford Hall: The Great House of the Lees» o «The Story of Coal and Iron in Alabama», su obra más conocida en la actualidad.
