Anna Katharine Green (Brooklyn, Nueva York, 1846 - Buffalo, Nueva York, 1935), una de los primeros escritores estadounidenses dedicados a las novelas de detectives. Su poesía no tuvo mucho éxito por entonces, pero sus novelas sí.
«The Leavenworth Case» fue su primera novela, muy exitosa por cierto. Y hasta se debatió en el Senado del Estado de Pensilvania si era posible que hubiera sido escrita por una mujer.
